In the morning, transfer by motor coach to the top of Pompeii to visit the most incredible archeological site with the ruins of the old city destroyed by the eruption of the volcano Mount Vesuvius in AD79. The ruins of Herculaneum were discovered by accident in 1709 when digging a well and are different from those of Pompeii in that they are submerged under a bank of tufa rock which is 8 to 10 meters thick.
