The Best Of Veneto

Enjoy 6 nights in a superior first class hotel (Villa Pace Park Hotel Bolognese or similar) including breakfast and dinner daily!  Round-trip economy air* is included in this package along with all transfers and sightseeing tours by deluxe motor coach as outlined in the day-by-day itinerary.  The half-day tours you will experience in Venice, Padua and Verona are led by English-speaking local guides along with an English-speaking Tour Leader to accompany you during your entire trip. 

Itinerary

Day 1-Depart from the USA

Day 2-Morning arrival at the Marco Polo Airport in Venice.  Your driver will meet you upon arrival and will bring you to your hotel.  Enjoy an afternoon walking tour of Venice by your local, English-speaking guide before taking a private transfer to Villa Pace Park Hotel Bolognese in Treviso.  Dinner in the evening.

Day 3-Villa Pace is just outside the center of Treviso.  In the morning you will have time to enjoy the medieval walls and characteristic streets as well as the frescoed buildings of Treviso center.  In the afternoon, we will depart from the hotel and visit a couple of Palladian villas before going to the wine cellar of Villa Sandi for a local Prosecco tasting.  Dinner in the evening.

Day 4-Today we will visit Bassano del Grappa, just one hour from Treviso.  Here we will enjoy the old center of town with its famous wooden bridge followed by the Nardini distillery.  We will go on a tour with the opportunity to taste their grappa!  In the afternoon, we drive to Marostica, just 10 minutes from Bassano del Grappa, to visit the beautiful town and it's notorious checkerboard piazza.  In this very square, a game of chess is played every other year during which the players wear traditional medieval clothing.  Lastly, we will visit the Marostica town museum.  Dinner in the evening. 

Day 5-Full day visit to Padua where you can take a leisurely stroll through the historic center and visit some of the treasures it has to offer; the Basilica of Saint Anthony, the famous Scrovegni Chapel and Prato della Valle, one of the largest squares in all of Europe! Dinner in the evening.

Day 6-Today we will depart in the morning to Vicenza, about 1 hour from our hotel.  In Vicenza, we will visit the old town with its Olympic Theatre of Palladio, the Palladian Basilica and the memorable Palladian villa La Rotonda.  Dinner in the evening.

Day 7-Full day trip to Verona, located just 90 minutes from our hotel.  You will have all day at your leisure to explore the small city of Verona including the Piazza Bra', its Roman amphitheater and of course, Romeo and Juliet's house.  Dinner in the evening.

Day 8-Morning departure back to the USA.
